About the web site
The web site was created by me in order to publish my work.
The web site contains scripts written in Ruby that display the content of what you are watching at the moment.
I'm also using VIM as my main text editor and GIMP as an image manipulation program for the web site.
Some of my design and graphics were made by Adir Vered, and he also help me a lot in everything that is GUI on this web site.
I have chosen Ruby as the language behind the engine of this web site, simply because I wanted to learn this programming language, and it took me a day and a half to create a very basic working engine, without any earlier knowledge in that specific language (although I do have a lot of experience with the Perl language, and some experience with Java that are close to that language).
About Me
My name is Ido (pronounce as "I" as the sound of "E", d (as in "Door") "o" (as in "door")) aka ik_5 for some people, and I am a software developer.By saying that I'm a developer, it means that I can develop in any computer based programming language that someone will ask me to use. That's my occupation, as well as my hobby. It does not matter to me if I currently know that language or not.
While my favorite programming language is Object Pascal (not what you learned at school... please!), and when I have the time, I also contribute things to the FPC and sometimes even to the Lazarus open source projects.
I develop programs in more programming language then Object Pascal, but that's my favorite programming language.
Oh, the last time I counted, I developed programs in more then 20 programming languages, and I still keep on looking for new things and new languages to learn, to expand my knowledge and skills.
I prefer on using open source software, and also release my code and projects in such licenses that consider to be FOSS.
My current only Operating system (for the past 6 years) is Linux. I also used FreeBSD in the past, and also tried other operating systems, but at the moment, Linux is the best operating system for my needs, although it's far from being perfect.
